Chinatown Half-Dollar - Quality Magic:
You explain to a spectator that your hands are very quick and that you would like to test this quickness against his eyes. Tell the spectator that you are not going to punch him in the eye but you are going to use two coins. A United States half-dollar and a Chinese coin are shown to be completely examinable. They are then covered with a handkerchief or silk scarf.

One of the coins is removed from the handkerchief and quickly shown to the spectator. It is then placed into your pocket. The spectator is asked to name which coin was removed, the Chinese coin with the hole through it or the American half-dollar. When the spectator names the correct coin you congratulate him and tell him that you will do the trick a little faster if he promises to watch a little slower. This always gets a laugh. From this point on in the effect the spectator will not be able to name the correct coin that was removed from under the handkerchief. At the end of the effect both coins can be examined again.
